Why QRoamer exists

QRoamer comes from a simple idea: old-fashioned paper mail had a physical weight a like never had. An object passed from hand to hand, picked up and moved somewhere else, holds together two things social media split apart: the digital trace (the map, the messages) and the real physical object (the instance itself, which only ever exists in one place at a time).

It openly owes a debt to things that came before it: geocaching (objects hidden in the world, shared coordinates), mail-art and "travel diary for an object" projects (a stuffed toy, a book, passed person to person), notes left inside library books. It doesn't invent anything new — it stitches old pieces together with a QR code instead of a handwritten address.

What it does NOT want to be

Not a social network — no profile, no followers, no feed to scroll. Not a competitive game — no scores, no leaderboard of who "won" by finding the most creatures. Not data collection disguised as a game — see the Privacy page: we collect the bare minimum and nothing else.

What comes next (an honest roadmap)

Real ideas, not promises: creatures with a different "topic" (one asks for a thought, another might ask for a photo), collective milestones tied to how many different countries a creature has touched (with something unlocking when it happens — not yet decided what), maybe one day letting others propose their own creature. None of this is guaranteed or dated — QRoamer gets built by producing objects and watching what happens, not at a planning desk.
